PIPL Summary:  We currently have five active PIPL nests.  There has been no breeding activity observed on Bodie Spit or Hatteras Inlet Spit.  We currently have three active nests on Cape Point and we continue documenting scrapes on Cape Point and South Beach.  Several scrapes have been documented on North Ocracoke.  On South Point we have two active nests and several scrapes are being maintained.

Wilson’s Plover (WIPL) Summary: WIPL breeding behavior has been observed on South Point and possible scrapes have been found.

 

American Oystercatcher (AMOY) Summary:  We currently have 16 active AMOY nests. Bodie-Hatteras District has five pairs of AMOYs with nests and two pairs on scrape territories.  Hatteras District has seven pairs of AMOYs with nests and three pairs on scrape territories. Ocracoke has four pairs of AMOYs with nests and two pairs on scrape territories.

PIPL Summary:  At Cape Point, three nests have been documented.  Scrapes continue to be observed/maintained on Cape Point and South Point.  The nest on South Beach has been abandoned but new scrapes continue to be observed in the area.
