PIPL Summary:   One active nest on Bodie Island Spit.  On Cape Point we have five broods and on South Beach we have one brood.  On North Ocracoke we have one active nest and one pair actively scraping.  On South Point we have one brood and one active nest.  Scraping continues to be documented on South Point.

American Oystercatcher (AMOY) Summary:  We currently have sixteen AMOY broods and five active AMOY nests.  Bodie-Hatteras District has four AMOY broods and four active nests.  Two UNB pairs are actively scraping.  Hatteras District has seven AMOY broods, one active nest, and one pair actively scraping.  Ocracoke has five AMOY broods and one pair on a scrape territory.

The footprints show the pedestrians turned around and followed their path back.

PIPL Summary:  On Cape Point we have three broods and two active nests and on South Beach we have one active nest.  On North Ocracoke we have one active nest.  On South Point we have one brood and two active nests.  One nest on South Point was depredated by ghost crabs 5/25 - 5/27.  Scraping continues to be documented on South Point.

Colonial Waterbirds (CWBs): LETEs, COTEs and BLSKs have been observed in and near historic colony locations.  In the Bodie-Hatteras District one mixed colony (LETE, COTE) has formed on Bodie Spit, another mixed colony (COTE, BLSK) has formed on Green Island, and five LETE colonies have been documented between Ramps 23 and 30.  Five active LETE colonies have been documented in Hatteras District.  One mixed colony is active on North Ocracoke.  One LETE colony and one mixed colony have been documented on South Point.
