Wilson’s Plover (WIPL) Summary: WIPL breeding behavior has been observed and possible scrapes have been found on South Point.
American Oystercatcher (AMOY) Summary: From the 23 pairs that nested in 2010, 41 of the 46 AMOYs have been observed on the seashore. Territorial behavior and scraping is being observed in all districts. We currently have five active nests.

Four sets of pedestrian tracks entered the AMOY closure/bumpout from the shoreline on the east side of Cape Point and ended in the Hook. Drag marks from what appeared to be an ice chest were evident. Another pedestrian entered the closure from the Hook and walked through an American oystercatcher scrape. The tracks stopped near some exposed marine mammal bones and then returned to the Hook. | |
