Closure intrusions:

Bodie District:

7/29 - One set of dirt bike tracks going North from R30 to R23. The track disappears as it enters the Resource closure at R23.

7/30 – Three sets of pedestrian tracks entered the pre-nesting closure near the CWB colony 0.7 mi S of R4.

7/31 – One person was walking along the water at R23 in the closure for BHC01C. 3 sets of footprints were observed following the water within the closure from R23 north to the closure boundary.

8/4 – One set of footprints were observed entering the beach at R23. One set of footprints were observed traveling along the shoreline in the closure BHC01B.

Hatteras District:

7/29- Several pedestrian tracks observed entering and exiting Cape Point pre-nesting closure.

7/29- Pedestrian tracks and dog tracks observed entering sea turtle closure 4.0 mi S Ramp 38.

7/29- Sometime prior to sea turtle nest NH03 hatching in Buxton village the nest markers were relocated five feet to the north. The relocation of the markers caused the nest to be outside of the filter fencing when it was installed and one stake narrowly missed the nest cavity. About five hatchlings attempted to climb the dune behind the nest, but there were no signs those, or any other hatchlings entered the village. The actual nest site was found and the protective filter fencing was adjusted to protect the nest and hatchlings which emerged later.

7/29- Pedestrian tracks observed in sea turtle closure 1.3 mi S of Ramp 34.

7/29- Pedestrian tracks observed in sea turtle closure 0.4 mi S of Ramp 38.

7/29- Pedestrian tracks observed in sea turtle closure 0.1 mi S of Ramp 38.

8/3 – Seven pedestrians and one dog on leash walking on ocean shoreline inside bird closure N of Ramp 59.  All pedestrians were asked to leave immediately.
